Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Draa Valley – Zagora desert (8 Hours Drive)
Your Group shared 2 days desert trip from Marrakech will begin with an early pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech, at around 7 a.m. The journey will take you over the High Atlas Mountains, where we will cross the highest pass in Morocco, Tizi N’Tichka (2260 m in altitude). An important stop in your trip will be for visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, which is the location of numerous Hollywood successful movies (Gladiator, Prince of Persia, Game of Thrones, Cleopatra, etc.). You will have the opportunity to learn more about the magic and history of the place with the help of a local guide. Afterward, we will be heading to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Sahara” and due to the presence of a big movie-making set here, it is also known as the Moroccan version of Hollywood. Another important location that will be visited is a famous Kasbah among the tourists, Taourirt. Near this place, you will also enjoy your lunch with a beautiful landscape to admire. We continue our trip towards Draa Valley, crossing the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the N’Tnifift pass (1710 m), the former route of caravans for Sahara traders, to the oasis of Agdz. The Draa Valley is fortified by Kasbahs and oases covered by thousands of palm trees. This valley hosts the largest palm tree plantation in Morocco. Upon arrival to Zagora in the afternoon, we will meet the caravans, and a camel trekking adventure shall begin across the dunes while admiring the beauty of the sunset. You will enjoy traditional Moroccan food under the Sahara night sky while being entertained by Berber people and spend the night in Nomadic tents.
Day 2: Zagora – Ouarzazat - Marrakech (7 Hours Drive)
The second day will begin with an early wakeup so you can admire an amazing sunrise in the desert. After a typical Moroccan breakfast in the bivouac of Zagora Desert, you will ride the camels back to the vehicle. On the return journey to Marrakech, we will stop in Ouarzazate for lunch in a local restaurant and continue our way back through the Atlas Mountains.
